Cherry Pie Knit Dishcloth Pattern

This pattern has been in the family for a while, but I didn't like the original pattern name (Round Knit Dishcloth. Boring!) so I switched it up. I was inspired by the Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton in Hot Pepper I was using . The color may be Hot Pepper, but I think each section looks like a pie slice, so Cherry Pie it is!

There are a few "tricks" to this pattern.

Clear as mud? Good! Let's knit!

CHERRY PIE DISHCLOTH PATTERN

Grandma's Favorite Knit Dishcloth Pattern

Today's dishcloth pattern is a family favorite. I'm sure you've seen it before. A simple, classic knit dishcloth that is worked from corner to corner. This is the dishcloth I remember my grandmothers and mother using. It's been passed down to me and now I'm passing it along to you!

I used this gorgeous Cotton Hemp yarn from Martha Stewart Craft's collection for Lion Brand. The color is peacock and it's a slightly bluer version of a peacock feather. As with all Martha Stewart's products, the colors are rich and beautiful.

Belle Pointelle Knit Dishcloth Pattern

The Belle Pointelle is a "fit in the palm of your hand" kind of dishcloth. It's smaller than what I normally use, but it's nice to have one small enough to clean the inside of a drinking glass. This uses yarn-overs and decreases to create an openwork pointelle pattern. Because the edges start to curl when finished, I added a crochet border. If you don't crochet, don't worry. The border is completely optional.

This was knit with Bernat Handicrafter Cotton DeLux yarn in Navy. I can't find the DeLux on their website, but there are quite a few options for Bernat Handicrafter Cotton on Amazon.

Lemon Swirl Knit Dishcloth Pattern

Because I love a good "twist" (See what I did there?), I'm sharing this Lemon Swirl knit dishcloth pattern.  I love round dishcloths. Square ones are so…well, you get the idea.

I used Peaches & Creme Yarn in Sunshine. So bright and happy! There are a few things about this dishcloth that I like, one being the open spaces. That way crumbs can fall through when rinsing. This pattern uses a crochet edge to finish. If you don't crochet, just finish after binding off.

Textured Moss Knit Dishcloth Pattern

Textured Moss Knit Dishcloth is one of the softest I've made yet! It uses the stamen stitch, a combo of purled slip stitches and knit. I love stitches that are simple but look unique.

For the dishcloth pictured I used Bernat Handicrafter Delux in Avocado.

The Hive Knit Dishcloth Pattern

I was looking for a super scrubby knit stitch that would knock out the dirtiest dish. This one does a great job! Thanks to Lion Brand for this amazing yarn. Not only do I love the Kiwi color, I love how easy Kitchen Cotton is to work with. It's soft on the hands, but can still get the job done in the kitchen, bathroom, or any area you need to get squeaky clean. The stitch reminded me of honeycomb, so The Hive it is!

No Place Like Home Knit Dishcloth Pattern

I'm channeling my inner Judy Garland. This beauty closes out our month of dishcloths courtesy of Lion Brand Yarn. I just love working with this family-owned and operated company.

This picture makes it look almost as ruby as Dorothy's slippers, but it's actually a lovely coral Kitchen Cotton in Cayenne.
