It's crochet week again and this time it's the Fancy Fan Crochet Dishcloth. Okay, so it's not super fancy, but I do love alliteration. This dishcloth was made with Peaches & Creme Hampton Twists.

FANCY FAN DISHCLOTH

With US size G hook, ch 28.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, {ch 3, skip next 3 ch} across; turn — 4 ch-3 sp

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, {skip next sc, 5 dc in ch-3 sp, skip next sc, sc in next} across, ending with sc in last st; turn — 4 fans

Row 3: Ch 4, skip (2 sc and dc), sc in next 3 dc, {ch 3, skip (dc, sc, dc) sc in next 3 dc} across to last 4 sts, ch 3, skip (dc, sc) sc in last sc; turn — 5 ch-3 sp

Row 4: Ch 3, 3 dc in ch-3 sp, {skip next sc, sc in next, skip next sc, 5 dc in ch-3 sp}across, 4 dc in ch-4 sp — 3 full & 2 partial fans

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in next 3 dc, {ch 3, skip (dc, sc, dc), sc in next 3 dc} across; turn — 4 ch-3 sp

Repeat rows 2-5 three more times.

Finish: Ch 1, sc in same st and each st around; join with sl st to beginning ch 1; finish off and weave in ends.

Abbreviations

  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • sp – space
  • sl st – slip stitch
